James W Morris II, Author
James W. Morris Jr. is an author, entrepreneur, and executive whose books span business, self-help, and literary fiction and poetry. Across every genre, his work follows a single throughline: turning experience into insight, and insight into art.
That experience runs deep. Morris has spent 30 years in manufacturing and operations, including 12 years at RR Donnelley, where he rose from Shift Supervisor to General Manager of the highest revenue and most profitable kitting operation in the company's Global Turnkey Division. Along the way he worked with Compaq Computer Corporation's operations team through the HP transition and served on the execution team for the $2.5 billion sale of Banta Corporation to RR Donnelley. Today he is President and CEO of TMC Supply Chain Solutions and TMC Workforce Solutions, both Nationally Certified Minority Business Enterprises, and the founder of Morris Motivation, his business coaching and leadership development brand. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Finance, an MBA in Global Business and Finance, and a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
Morris writes the way he leads: with candor, structure, and a belief that hard-won lessons should be handed forward. His business titles include The Imposter Syndrome as Fuel, a performance framework for turning self-doubt into preparation, execution, and growth, and The Entrepreneur's Encyclopedia: Market Research. His personal development work includes Connected On Purpose: 50 Tips to Create Meaningful Connection and The 75 Laws of Love Lost. On the literary side, he is the author of The Hollow Wore My Name and the trilogy Three Flames, One Fire, where his voice turns from the boardroom to the interior life.
Whether he is building companies, coaching leaders, or writing at his desk in Houston, Morris returns to the same conviction: every experience, even the painful ones, holds material worth shaping into something that helps someone else.
